Cohasset DTC Holds "Save the Post Office" Rally

On Saturday, August 22, 2020, the Cohasset Democratic Town Committee (DTC) hosted a “Save the Post office” rally at the Cohasset Post Office, as part of a larger nationwide event organized by Move On. The rally was intended to show support for the USPS in the wake of Donald Trump and Postmaster DeJoy’s efforts to undermine and slowdown postal service in advance of the 2020 election.

With only 24 hours notice, more than 30 people attended the event, holding signs such as “Save the USPS” and “Hands off our mail.” The USPS is a critical service in Cohasset and towns all over the country - responsible not just for delivering ballots in the upcoming election but life-saving prescriptions, social security checks and personal communications, which are all the more important during the COVID pandemic as for many, letters and notes are the only way for many of us to reach our loved ones.
